On October 3rd, the Chinese Consulate General in Zanzibar hosted a reception to celebrate the 76th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. Over 200 guests attended the event, including Consul General Li Qianghua; senior government officials of Zanzibar such as Speaker of the House of Representatives Hon. Zubeir Ali Maulid, Minister of Health Hon. Nassor Ahmed Mazrui, and Principal Secretary of the Ministry of Tourism and Heritage, Mr. Aboud Suleiman Jumbe; as well as members of the diplomatic corps and representatives from various sectors. 

    In his remarks, Consul General Li Qianghua reviewed the remarkable achievements China has made over the past 76 years since the founding of the People’s Republic of China. He highlighted China’s Global Governance Initiative, emphasizing China’s important contributions to world peace and development. Li expressed China’s readiness to continue working closely with Zanzibar to implement the important consensus reached between the leaders of China and Tanzania, deepen traditional friendship, and expand cooperation in various fields between China and Zanzibar. 

    Speaker Maulid highly commended China’s tremendous development achievements and expressed gratitude for China’s long-term support in areas such as healthcare, personnel training, and infrastructure development. He reaffirmed Zanzibar’s agreement with and support for China’s Global Governance Initiative, pledging to enhance mutual trust and expand cooperation with China to further elevate bilateral relations for the benefit of both peoples.
