On December 23, 2024, Consul General Li Qianghua met with Ambassador Silima Haji Kombo, Director of the Zanzibar Foreign Affairs Office, and presented a copy of his credentials.

Consul General Li expressed his honor at assuming office in beautiful Zanzibar. He emphasized that the traditional friendship between China, Tanzania, and Zanzibar, forged by leaders such as Chairman Mao Zedong, President Julius Nyerere, and President Abeid Karume, has endured for over half a century. He highlighted that at the recent Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) Summit, Chinese and African leaders outlined a new blueprint for advancing modernization and building a high-level China-Africa community with a shared future. The Consulate General in Zanzibar is committed to working closely with the Zanzibar Foreign Affairs Office to promote continuous progress in their friendly cooperation.

Director Haji warmly welcomed Consul General Li Qianghua, fondly recalling his visit to China and praising the Zanzibar-China relationship and China’s remarkable development achievements. He pledged to actively support closer exchanges and cooperation across various sectors to further advance Zanzibar-China relations.
